Denis Morris Novice Sprints Results

Hello Coaches

I would like to thank everyone that attended this years novice
sprints. The event was a success even thou we had a few scheduling
issues to iron out. Please look for us again next year between Eden
and the Ontario's. In the mean time we will be working at making the
event bigger and better. If you have any comments or feed back I would
love to hear from you.

Please find attached the results from this years event.

Thanks again for your participation and support.

Denis Morris Novice Sprints

Hello Coaches

It has been brought to my attention that there is a problem with the
online registration system.
It is saying that registration is closed and will not take late
entries. Due to this we will be extending the entry dead line until
Friday the 19th at noon. We will also take late entries at the door
and include an event T-shirt while supplies last.

We will also revert back to our old registration system, please find
attached an excel registration file, Simply type in your school name
and contact in formation at the top, enter your athletes names then
select the race information and age from the drop down windows. If you
are collection the money and will be paying yourself or with a school
cheque then select paying "by coach", if the kids are paying
themselves then select "by athlete".

For team entries please leave an empty line before and after the four
team members. I have also attached a dummy entry form to explain.

All of the entries that have been confirmed on the web site are still
valid and will be in the race system. If you have any problems or
questions the please email me or call my cell 905 650 2125.

We look forward to seeing you at the event.

JNT Update and request for support of the IPCC

Hello All,

RCA's Junior Program is well underway and this weekends erg race is a very important step for many of the country's top juniors to complete their 2k or 6k ergs.  On Monday, February 8th we are expecting a large submission to RCA's erg monitoring pRogram.  With your help we hope to see a record number of juniors participating, including JR. A and JR. B athletes.  We are expect great results from the top group of juniors in both age categories.  The results for the 09' - 10' season appear to be stronger than those from last year.

The JNT will be running a camp for the top juniors in the country at Shawnigan Lake this coming March.  We will use the following information to determine the invitees to the camp:

Erg Monitoring
Input from the IPCC about specific athletes
Results from NRC

Space is limited, but we will do our best to include the top athletes from the criteria listed above and who we feel have a chance to represent Canada in the near future.  Should an athlete not be selected to camp we encourage everyone to attend the Junior Trials in Welland Ont. June 7th and 8th where they will have an opportunity to show their stuff and possibly earn a spot with the Canadian Junior Team.  Provided the athletes demonstrate a good level, RCA is preparing and targeting to send an 8+ and a 4x for both the Jr. Men and Jr. Women to this year's Jr. World Rowing Championships.  We need all of your support to help make this possible.

Please ensure your athletes are submitting to the RCA Erg Monitoring, and pass along your recommendations for any candidates for the camp to myself and John Ruscitti.  Athletes must be age eligible to compete as juniors this summer.  If you have any questions about the program please contact either John (ruscitti@rowingcanada.org) or myself (gmckay@rowingcanada.org)

Thanks everyone!
